If you like themed kids’ rooms then we are certain you’re going to love this one! First of all, let’s relocate ourselves for the moment from the far reaches of the Scandinavian North and settle someplace nearer to the Equator this time, where the sun is warmer, and nature is much lusher. A place where colours together with texture dictate the surroundings, evoking adventure and excitement.
Let’s imagine the bedroom in a tropical place!

GREENERY IS THE KEY
Greenery ought to be the centrepiece of this themed room as it serves as an instant symbol of a tropical environment. But, not just any greenery! Whether through huge murals or smaller prints, palms and other exotic plant are the ones you should be looking for. By the way, it’s also a great way to add lots of texture to the room! Take a look at the murals in the photos bellow, don’t they speak for themselves? If you are unable to get a hold of a proper jungle, Monstera leaf plants will jump in to save the day and bring in the tropical vibe for you. A leaf placed in the right place can sometimes do the trick.

LOTS OF COLOUR
When you imagine a tropical paradise, what instantly comes to mind? The answer is rich colours! That means letting go of much of the neutrals and embracing vivacious colour in your little one’s room. Complement the greenery you just set up with a variety of hues through pillows, fabrics and other accent pieces such as a flamingo trophy head. You can search for murals with tropical flowers and birds as well and include colours that way. If you want to dim things a bit, go for toned down shades of blue, pink, yellow, orange or red and still keep the tropical vibe going. So, colour, colour and lots of colour!

RATTAN
Rattan furniture can very much help in fulfilling the tropical atmosphere of the room. So, consider getting a rattan bed, crib or bassinet depending on the little one’s age instead of the usual wooden or metal framed ones. They do feel so much more natural for sleeping too! You could also opt for a rattan chair and fill it with colourful throw pillows to make it more comfy and appealing.

TROPICAL ANIMALS AND FRUITS
There couldn’t exist a tropical paradise anywhere without the dazzling exotic animals and delicious fruits! Flamingos, parrots and monkeys on one hand and pineapples, bananas and mango on the other – what a perfect picture. Of course, a few tigers, giraffes and elephants are welcome too.

Don’t forget to add fun to the place, after all this is a kid’s room! For example, you can always make the room more adventurous for the kids by placing a teepee in the middle of the tropical rainforest.
