We immediately fell in love with Sarah Strath’s Instagram feed which reflects her Scandinavian family lifestyle and taste – well, with over a hundred thousand members it seems like we are not the only ones to feel this way! The family house which is located in the southern part of Sweden is full of softness, light and pastel colours with nordic touches such as cosy fluffy cushions and blankets with candles and stringlights here and there. Sarah’s two daughters, Emiliya and Lovisa share a room which has the same cosy and Scandinavian feel as the rest of the house.
Sarah chose most of the décor for her girls’ room herself (her favourite store in Sweden is BabyShop) but her oldest daughter wanted a desk so they chose a wide one together so there was enough space to invite her friends to create and draw on it too. Sarah also chose a dusty pink paint for the walls that she believes is the perfect tone for the girls to grow with.
The glittery stars add whimsy and the stringlights make them look even more magical. We love how the fluffiness is scattered around the room with the berbère style rug on the floor and the pom pom honeycombs in the ceiling.
A very girly room indeed! And just in case anyone has a doubt about the girly powers in this room, a lightbox reminds of who runs the world (girls of course).
This is the second bed in the room with practical storage drawers underneath it.
The room contains several Scandinavian brands such as Mrs Mighetto for the posters, Maileg for the plush bunny and Ikea for the beds.
We are convinced that Sarah’s styling of her own house on Instagram has a promising future – currently it’s a part-time work but her dream is to work for clients and work solely with interior styling. We can’t wait for this to happen and will definetly keep an eye open!

Hi here is the ikea link for the bigger desk with the Alex drawers underneath. It’s 122 long. I don’t know if it’s the one in the picture. I don’t find an all white desk in this style but the legs can be spray painted a glossy white. 🙂

Hi guys. I did a color match to the Pinterest pin on my sw colorsnap. It came up with Sherwin Williams Vaguely Mauve. It looks pretty close.
Also the desk is called the linnmon from ikea. There are different lengths. The legs are the give away. I didn’t find an all white one but you can easily spray paint the legs white. There’s a desk that has the cabinets under it or you could get one that’s not so long and buy the cabinet called “Alex” and put it underneath. I’ll link the diff desks. I’m loving this room and will be trying to do something similar for my girls. I’m not a designer. Just mom and wife. 🙂

Its hard to be accurate by pictures and to some people it looks like a dusty pink but to me looks more like a greige, light taupe? what type of color would you say is more like?
