Life is pretty busy for Tiarn Campbell, juggling between being a mama to two and a half son Noah, managing the administration part of two shopping centres plus owning a gym! And of top that she has been renovating her family home based on the Mid North coast of Australia for the last three years with toddler Noah in tow. But she still managed to answer a few of our questions and lets us discover how she decorated Noah’s room with great style and taste.

WHAT WAS THE INSPIRATION BEHIND THE DESIGN OF NOAH’S ROOM?

When Noah was born, his room was quite neutral as we didnt know the gender when pregnant and so we continued this on as he grew into his room including his ‘big boy room’. The rest of our house in a Scandi feel so we wanted to continue this into his room with little pops of personality.

HOW MUCH DID NOAH GET INVOLVED IN THE DESIGN PROCESS?

Noah is quite the builder around our place, so we involved Noah in the process of building his cubbyhouse bed which then also helped with the transition to the big boy bed as he couldnt wait to sleep in his great new creation.

WHAT WAS THE MOST FUN PART OF DESIGNING THE ROOM?

Building his bed from scratch, this was a great task for Noah and his dad to get involved and bond.

DID YOU HAVE ANY MUST-HAVES FOR IT?

As soon as I decided to up-grade his room to suit his age and transition to a bed, I wanted a height chart! A rular style that we could mark his milestones and watch him grow and this has been so much fun for Noah! He loves talking about his height when we mark it and how much he has grown! So this was the first purchase and we based the room around it.

HOW DO YOU THINK THE ROOM WILL EVOLVE AS NOAH GROWS UP?

It is such an open colour palette that anything added to his room would just give the bones character, Noah is quite happy to sit with a toy car and race around the track of his rug, and we love watching him play in here.

DID YOU FACE ANY CHALLENGES WHILE CREATING THIS SPACE?

Our home is very limited on space, so the area to fit everything functional into this room was quite small. Working with the space we had would of been the biggest challenge, so many ideas and very little space.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE ASPECT OF MOTHERHOOD?

Watching Noah laugh! And to know that we have created this warm and loving home for him that creates the laughter, best feeling!
