Christmas is so close that we can already hear the bells jingling. If you have kids, you’ve probably already decorated the tree and spread the spirit of holiday around the house, but have your little ones participated in that process? Kids love the idea of making something with their hands and they love when their works are proudly displayed. DIY projects can also be a great way to get them into the Christmas spirit. Here are some great Christmas ornaments you can make together.

PAPER SNOWMAN

Depending on the age of your kids, you can help in this project by cutting out shapes or just by watching and providing instructions. To make these itsy bitsy snowmen, you’ll need paper, glue, scissors, yarn, orange pompom and black marker. For the first snowman, just cut out a snowman’s body shape, fold the paper and cut out the circles for the bottom “snowball”. Use yarn for scarf, pompom for nose and black marker for eyes.

TOILET PAPER ROLLS CRAFTS

If you are throwing away your toilet paper rolls, stop! There are genius ways to use them for creative diy decorations, especially in this merry season. All you need is scissors, toilet paper rolls, glue, pieces of fabric (for the scarfs for example) and markers (possibly even some glitters or stickers). Kids can use that to make a Christmas wreath, Santa tree ornament, advent calendar and a mini Christmas tree. We are pretty sure though that the toilet paper roll animals (penguins, polar bears and, of course, reindeers) will be their favourite projects!

PINECONE CHRISTMAS TREES

One can never get enough Christmas trees, especially when they’re this small and adorable. Even the collecting of pinecones can be a great family adventure. Kids can paint the trees using markers, gouache or nail polish. Decorate the trees by gluing on old necklaces’ pieces or other sparkles.
