This boy’s room was designed for a little five year old boy called Joachim by Monica Strabo, the founder of Kids Zone Design. It is inspired by Joachim’s hobbies and passions; cars, books and reading (Tintin in particular!) and his fascination with the sights and sounds of his home city London and the English countryside.
Joachim can read his favourite Tintin books on the cuddly rug from Habitat or take a “spin” around his room with his vintage red car with one of his friends. The blue Amsterdam house by Kastvaneenhuis fills the corner perfectly and stores all his Lego and other toys.
He can also cosy and cuddle up in his Tree House Bed by Mathy by Bols either in the lower part which has been made to a cosy reading nook or inside the “house” which is his bed if he is feeling tired after a full day at school. The UK Egg leather chair from Andrew Martin’s London interior design store looks pretty cosy too..
If the weather allows it then Joachim can open the doors to his balcony and enjoy his own little “english garden” or contemplate it while he practices his handwriting on his vintage kidsdesk from France.
The creative Tintin artpiece was made by Kids Zone Design and features the Tintin cartoons and toycars (from the Tintin shop in London) on shelves. It beautifully hangs above the mantlepiece decorated with a series of London doubledecker buses from Hamley’s.
The London bus cushions are from the White Company that stocks a large range of decorating accessories, textiles and bedding from their kidsrange the Little White Company.
Hot air balloons from Authentic Models fit for a future adventurer like Tintin!
