The jolliest holiday of them all is just around the corner. It is almost as we can hear the winter winds chanting Christmas carols and the rustle of wrapping paper in the festive morning. We can’t wait, and children must be even more excited, so why make them wait any longer? Make every minute they spend in their rooms a reason to celebrate. Here are some tips that will help you accomplish that.
A MINI TREE
Of course the family Christmas tree will be displayed in your living room so that everyone can see it, but you can bring in some magic into the kids’ room by adding a small Christmas tree in one corner or by the bedside. Decorate it with just a few festive adornments. You can also make an alternative to a real living green tree and make a Christmas tree out of palettes, planks, branches, wires, etc. or draw it on the wall.

THE COLOURS OF THE HOLIDAY
One can associate almost anything with colours. What shades would describe Christmas the best? White, red, green, beige, grey, gold and silver (all of it with just a bit of shine and sparkle). Now you can go all out and paint the walls with some of these colors, or introduce them through details and accessories, such as bed sheet, blankets, rugs and cushions. Just make sure you are not going overboard with mixing them all – combining just two colours with either silver or gold touches will give the best result.

USE FAMILIAR PATTERNS
Christmas trees, reindeers, stars, snowflakes and snowmen; sounds familiar? Add them to your children’s room with patterned wallpaper, bed sheets, cushions and blankets. Drawing some of them on the walls (or windows) can be a fun project for school kids and a great way to spend quality time with them.

TWINKLE, TWINKLE…
Kids simply adore Christmas lights. Imagine how happy they would be if you hang these sparkly things into their room. Hang star or snowflake shaped lights on the wall or by the window and adorn their bed with stringlights.

CHRISTMAS ACCESSORIES
Accessories are the simplest (and the most affordable) way to add some festive spirit into kids’ room. Those can be stuffed toys (reindeers, snowmen, white bunnies, etc.), noel plates, garlands, wreaths, winter wonderland mobile and other things that remind you of this jolly holiday.
