When you start planning a shared kid’s room then there are several questions that you need to ask yourself. Will there be enough playspace once two or several beds are in place or would it be better to choose a bunkbed to save space? Will the layout feel comfortable and practical? The psychological aspect is also important as a child might not feel it’s fair or fun to sleep at the bottom of the bunkbed so therefore two or several normal beds might be more suitable.
The two beds in this shared kid’s room has been divided by a low shelf-unit which saves space as both children can share it to place their books etc instead of having two nighttables. The lamps can be fitted onto the walls instead of having two lamps on one table.
In this kid’s room, the layout is the same as the previous one with two beds against the wall but the two beds don’t have any division and are facing eachother. The two sisters and brothers will probably chat quite alot in the evening with this layout which might be a good thing as it will create a stronger bond between them!
Two high headboards placed against eachother could also create a division and some privacy and you wouldn’t even need a furniture piece between the two beds.
A bed nook will feel cosy and private like in this room and it will also be easier to decorate each nook differently and individually as there is a real division between the two beds.
The girls sharing this room probably have a similar character and taste as the room has the same theme and decoration all throughout – even the colour of the bed and the bedding has been duplicated. We are guessing they might be twins!
In this shared boy’s room, it looks quite uniform with the same coloured kidsbeds, one shared rug instead of two smaller and different ones, a shared nighttable and same bedding but some individuality has been added by choosing different cushions and posters within the same theme.
This pastel shared girl’s room evokes unity and love with the family poster and the heart lamp in the middle. The pastel decoration is harmonious throughout the whole room with some individual details that are different such as the soft plushdolls and little posters above the headboards.
