Which words would you think of if you were to decorate a totally funky girl’s room? Colourful, fun, wild, musical, bold.. ?

This room is totally funky to us! Decorated by Elsie’s Larson, who is quite a funky character herself and owner of A Beautiful Mess website, has incorporated elements like a guitar, a neon cactus lamp, a lightup sign with a fun message, wood rainbow and cactus plush softie in this kids-friendly guestroom. We would actually imagine it belonging to just one funky girl who invites her friends to play guitar in it.

The Australian company Adairs sells kidsbedding and furniture and always styles their kidsroom sets so amazingly cool that you just want to buy everything! The bright fuchia pink on the bed and raindrops aswell as the Wild thing poster would make THE room for a girl with a strong personnality and funky character. The rug with pops of colour and the cactus couldn’t be better in this room.

Arro Home has lots of kilim rugs with patterns that are modern, fun and original that would make the perfect starting point for decorating a funky girl’s room. Our advice would be to add some freaky cushions such as the donut or the triangular patterned giraff together with a bright yellow star blanket or cross quilt from their kidscollection aswell.

A funky girl wouldn’t want her bed in an obvious colour of course! This orange kidsbed from the Carter collection at Domayne would be more her style.

All this fun and quirky kids décor can be found at Tea Pea’s store in New Zeeland – you can just imagine a girl hopping into this bed at night! Check out their store as they have some really fantastic colourful neon lights with hearts or sentences.

How nice for two girls to be able to sit in such a cosy colourful space singing and playing the guitar..We also love the dots on the kites, the bed and on the rug. Designed by Vanessa Coyler Tay.

For the musical touch you can also add a textile guitar cushion. Mix it with some flowery textiles and a colourful orginal light such as this yellow birdlight for the contrast. The colourful rug adds pop and funk and breaks the look that would be quite boheme without it. The light garland makes the room feel more festive and fun..like sitting in a garden during a holiday singing with your friends..

The imaginative use of color and playful patterns in these girls’ rooms is truly inspiring. Incorporating vibrant hues and fun textures can stimulate creativity and foster a joyful atmosphere for children to grow and learn. It’s important to consider the longevity of the design elements and the practicality of maintaining a clean and organized space that adapts to a child’s changing needs. Incorporating storage solutions that blend seamlessly with the room’s aesthetic can help keep the space tidy and functional. These designs offer wonderful ideas for creating a personalized and spirited environment that kids can call their own.
