Light and few colours aswell as an uncluttered space will make your girls nursery room feel fresh and light. But how to make it interesting?

Instead of placing too many objects in many different colours, invest in a design piece of furniture in a fresh colour such as this yellow Eames chair. Just one design piece of furniture will make all the difference. All the rest can be light coloured such as light grey in the nursery with white and some natural wood. No need to place yellow on several other objects in the room. Just one other object as the lamp from Delightfull in this room is yellow.

A light plant with airy leaves has been placed in this girls nursery in front of the south-faced window. It just couldn’t be more light and fresh! Notice the choice of colours; pastelpink on the plantpot and a very discrete light grey on the walls. The black on the rug adds some spark to the room without it being too much. The vintage rockinghorse in cane has probably been chosen for its light design and the Ikea cot with thin bars also. The print frome the Animal Print Shop is discrete and terribly cute.

The designers at Freshhouse interior design studios made this beautiful fresh and light girl nursery by choosing a summery apricot pink for the cot and placing some round lights in paper that makes you think of several balloons in the air. The walls have been painted in a very discrete light coloured lavender colour which reminds you of the freshness of the nature and the little touches of green also recalls of summer and nature freshness.

Susie Cohen is a Melbourne based interior designer that has received many awards and been featured in Vogue Living aswell as many other famous interior design magazines. For this nursery she choose the Sleepi cot by Stokke that she placed in a white interior with just a few splashes of light colours on the rug and on some objects. Several wood objects have also been placed in the nursery, such as the lamp, the frame, the toys etc and they are all in light coloured natural wood.
