You will most likely see a vintage nursery room in an appartement or a house where the adult’s rooms also contain several vintage furniture pieces. A vintage nursery is maybe not the most practical, in terms of finding bumpers that will fit with the cot or compared to all the modern features such as ajustable heights and removable frontpieces you find on a contemporary cot – but it definetly has alot of originality and charm! Have fun mixing different blues in the boy nursery room, even if it’s not in the traditional muted blue tones you are used to seeing in vintage rooms. Vibrant and modern blues add contrast whereas a nursery in all muted blues will make it feel more traditional and scandinavian.
Red looks great in a boy’s vintage nursery! You can add just a few red toys and details (not necessarily vintage if you already have a vintage cot) or paint a modern ikea crib in a striking warm red and add a vintage piece of furniture such as the dresser for example.
Unpainted vintage wooden cots are so charming too.
Try not to go for the total vintage look by adding some modern details such as cushions, a modern rug or by painting one wall in a modern colour. It won’t alter the global vintage look of the nursery and will give an overall freshness.
