Summer might have taken a while to warm up this year, but it has finally brought the much-needed rays of sunshine and positivity needed to lift our spirits. There’s nothing quite like the longer, lighter days and occasional trips to the coast to refresh memories of our own childhoods. Oh, for those halcyon days of carefree fun, endless ice lollies and retreating to our bedrooms fatigued from adventure-filled days of frolicking with friends.

Talking of which, there is also no greater joy than retiring to the comfort and familiarity of a childhood bedroom. We have such fond memories of jumping, freshly bathed, into our bed and pulling up the duvet or candlewick bedspread, ready to regale Teddy with the day’s escapades.

So, if you’re ready, we’re asking you to channel your inner child and join us as we drop in on ten of our favourite Insta kids’ rooms. We hope you enjoy the inspiration.

Olivia’s room is a soothing blend of caramel latte and a hand-tied bloom of wildflowers from the meadow. It just screams of hazy days running wild in long grass, stopping only to pick more daisies and buttercups for homemade perfumes for mama.

The earthy hues are infused with blush pinks from the roses and peonies in the Boho Blooms wallpaper by @bohoartandstyling, and a wonderful @bekhalliday print is a poignant reminder of the magical memories created.

If a room could illustrate the effect of opening a door and letting the sunlight in, this would be it. This fabulously bright space is not only a carefully orchestrated feast for the eyes; it’s a room full of small business delights. We couldn’t possibly name check everything, but we’re rather drawn to the adventure pennant by @arnoldandthecaterpillar and the fantastic handmade Octopus Frank and padded polka dot floor cushion, both by @little_grays.

What could be more comforting than gazing up at a ceiling full of gold foil and glitter stars, courtesy of @thepaperpartycompany? Surely, it’s the only way to drift off to the land of nod. But is it? There’s also the subliminal reinforcement of impending sleep in the wire word art sleepyhead sign by @heykiddostudio. Of course, there’s also the soft glow of a snoozing fawn by @ooh_my_light or Bow In The Sky’s own dreamy shooting star.

We’re big fans of artful colour blocking, and this touch of terracotta in the form of an oversized headboard is simply stunning, not to mention practical for preserving those pristine white walls! It frames the showstopping Oliver Furniture bed perfectly and vibes well with the origami light pendant by @tweelingendesign.

The simplicity and colour palette create a lovely retro vibe, and we’re just a little bit in love with the portable round @wigiwama_com circus-inspired pouffe.

We defy anyone who doesn’t want to just slide right out of that romantic floral bed of dreams via Kinderfeets Polska’s Kinderboard and into that virtual pool of frilled playmat loveliness! This room is the epitome of romantic boho. We love how the brilliant white is punctuated with elegant touches of femininity; the oversized blooms by @peonydecore and the toffee-tinged ombre tutu. Natalia, you are such a lucky little girl.

There’s no dipping a toe in this minty, ocean-themed room. It’s a case of full submersion with this set of fabric Under The Sea removable wall stickers by @Sailah_lane. What an excellent way to dream – in the company of magical creatures like the narwal, whale, dolphin, seahorse and pufferfish. There’s the whole gamut of sea life, including starfish, crabs and shoals of fish too. A spot of wood panelling at the helm of the bed reinforces the nautical theme and completes this tranquil room with aplomb.

L is for luminosity and lovely, and it’s also for Luisa, the proud owner of this airy bedroom. Luisa’s room is compact, but the large window lets the natural light cascade in, highlighting the collection of well-edited pieces and creating a sense of space. There’s Cam Cam’s Harlequin cabinet, offering a glimpse of the treasures within and a superb wicker pram for precious role play. The vintage floral wallpaper brings a sense of boho romance that chimes well with the floaty canopy, pastel soft furnishings and peachy knitted throw.

We’re dotty about this spot of sophisticated styling. It’s such a fresh and welcoming space and a great example of the impact that can be achieved with a couple of well-paired colours and a lively print. Marvellous mustard and awesome aqua dominate in this sweet corner of Max’s room, but a riot of multicoloured polka dots add a sense of energy and celebration to proceedings. The mint pop-pom embellished trunk and wall basket by @tommyandmilly provide a fun take on storage too.

Some room schemes offer so much promise and beauty, and Laura’s wonderful vintage-inspired creation has earned its rightful place on this list. An abundance of blooms, ferns and berries and a particularly punchy pomegranate delivers all the impact. All kudos go to @minnieandmeinteriors for the I Dream of Genie wall mural. The peachy perfection anchors the rattan bed in all its mighty mustard glory with linens and a tufted, tasselled cushion by @adairs. This room is full of nods to nature with a bounty of natural furniture, and a hand-painted beaded chandelier provides a final touch of dainty grace.

Jenny continues her love of traditional country styling in Teddy’ seemingly expansive room. The wainscoted walls and custom-built panelled wardrobes add to the sense of scale, but high ceilings definitely help to create a wonderfully bright and breezy vibe in this pastel-infused room. There’s a touch of the coastal about the set-up, in part due to the choice of paint colours. It’s shell on the walls and shingle on the woodwork, courtesy of @neptunehomeofficial. And did you spot the bunny door handles on the closet? So cute.
