Pastel colours are so soft and lovely for girls’ rooms. However, try to avoid having only very light shades of pastel colours in the room as it might give a feel that everything is “floating” in the room. The room will look more interesting if some colours have deepness which doesn’t mean that they have to be super bright so that they aren’t pastels anymore. The interior and product stylist Charlotte Love from London knows how to use pastel colours in a way where pastel colours come together in a harmonious way by playing with different tones. Let’s take a look at the pastel girlsrooms that she styled for GoodHomes and Olli Ella.

Notice how Charlotte Love added a few brighter elements to the room with a bright yellow pompom (check Engel for similar bright yellow and pink pompoms) and a few other brighter yellow elements such as the wooden doll and notebooks. The bright white cot stands out as the walls have been painted off-white and with a deep yellow border at the top. The pastel colours aren’t dominant in this scheme but work perfectly as they have been added in touches only.

Classic pastel colours such as mint green, pink and yellow feel warmer and cosier with some wooden elements.

Some crunchy green details and bright orange adds the perfect touch to this pastel girl’s room that Charlotte Love styled for Olli Ella.

The bright blue stripes are not only interesting by the way they have been painted but also have a perfect tone and adds contrast to the pastel mint gree teepee from Nobodinoz and the pastel border on the rug from Armadillo & Co. The armchair and table from Small Designs adds modern structure and shape to the playroom that could have been quite classical without them aswell as deep interesting pastel blue and yellow tones to the room.

Let’s have a look at another pastel toned girlsroom from a talented american kids interior stylist, Joni, the owner of the design studio Lay Baby Lay.

Joni is the mother of two little girls who share this room and this is the older girl’s corner. Black is probably not the first colour you would think of being integrated for a pastel girlsroom but it adds a funky look to this pastel toned room. The black and white kidsbedding is from Land of Nod complemented by their yellow sun and bonjour heart cushion. The pale abricot pink toned walls (paint by Sherwin Williams’ Angeic) is highlighted by a turquoise wooden framed poster and some multicoloured letters that add some pop and interest to the soft pastel wall.
