OOH NOO
We say Ooh Yes ! to Ooh Noo, the award-winning kids design brand led by Designer and Founder Nina Mihovec from Slovenia. Armed with knowledge gained from her studies of industrial design and from her industrial firm specialized in product development, Nina created the brand Ooh Noo after having her first child. Her desire was to expose her children to good design and also to have and use designs she imagined in her kids’ rooms and own home.
The success of the brand was immediate. The first product was the Rocking Horse which won the Red Dot Design Award in 2012 and after that many other toys followed such as the toy pram in the shape of a moon, a crocodile on a stick with wheels, just to name a few. Each toy is made of the highest quality materials and tested – not only for safety but for reasons of comfort and practicality too. For example, the Alphabet blocks had to feel good in a baby’s and adult hand, so the Ooh-Noo team made sure the weight and size was just right.
Today the Ooh Noo collections also include bedding, cushions, playmats, enamel mugs with updated classic patterns or humorous designs such as silly, rather cute-looking monsters or robots. We have several favourites but if we were to choose just one, right now, then we would say the set of DIY cardboard characters that can be made into a robot, chicken, rabbit, piglet or a dog. Keep your eyes open for this brand, there will surely be more awards on the way, maybe for the new furniture collection?
