If you haven’t yet discovered the gorgeous french textile brand Sweetcase, then after seeing how Murielle Sitruk, the designer, created the room for her eldest daughter Salomé – you probably will. The room is sparky, a little bit “rock n’roll” mixed with some tender objects from Salomés childhood such as the lion wall trophy and beautiful delicate bedlinens from Sweetcase. The new design for the room had to fit a ten year old girl who no longer wants to be a child but not really a teenager either. Furthermore, the parents needed to conciliate their “design” decoration ideas with Salomés strong character and wishes. It might not sound easy, but the result is an original and unique girl’s room that Salomé feels good in and that can be used for several years to come without changing it too much.

girls room green walls

The first design choice was to paint the wooden panel wall in a cosy green. Murielle’s favourite element in the room is the colourful garland which definetly adds a spark to the whole room.

lion wall trophy

The lion wall trophy was originally not intended to be part of the room as it was bought for Salomé when she was four – but Salomé loves it so much that she insisted on keeping it!

You can also find the Terazzo print on junior bedding.

The black bed melts in perfectly as there are some sparky colours in the room.

ABOUT MURIELLE SITRUK, THE CREATIVE MIND BEHIND SWEETCASE

You can easily imagine that Murielle has a longstanding career in the artistic or creative field by looking at her collections and by the admirable way that she presents them in poetic photoshoots. Surprisingly, she hasn’t even attended one single art or design course and worked in the legal field before creating her own brand.

Her urge to create, explore and share ideas and most importantly, fulfill them, makes her a natural-born entrepreneur. Of course her inquisitive personality helps too – Murielle tells us that she needs to be on the move constantly and finds inspiration through everyday life, her sunny childhood spent in Marseille, art in general, innovative things and trends. The changes in the economy and how it affects family life and the way innovation evolves also play a role in her design process.

Murielle is a true frenchy with class and perfect taste.  She lives on the outskirts of Paris near the woods for the benefits of the nature and travels almost every day to her design studio located in a young trendy area that she shares with other designers. Her Paris lifestyle makes her happy but every time she travels back to her hometown Marseille, a little nostalgic feeling pinches her heart as she misses the sea and the sun. A feeling that is probably quickly blotted out as soon as she returns to her creative and imaginative world. And we guess that because you can really sense the abundance of good aura and pleasant unity all through Sweetcase’s collections.
