Fanny lives on the French Riviera and is a happy mother to two little children, Dali, a girl three years old and Marcello, a one year old boy. She recently made her dream come true by changing her career from working in a private bank to becoming a kids interior designer after following an on-line interior design course. Her design studio Diabolo Menthe was created just after completing the design of little Marcello’s nursery. We fell in love with the turquoise and white colourscheme and the poetic details that Fanny discretely incorporated here and there.
Her design process started with a crush on a paint colour scheme from the French brand Ressources but she didn’t rush to complete Marcello’s nursery as she really wanted to find elements that she was particularly fond of. However, she had most of the vintage pieces a long time before she was pregnant as she loves visiting secondhand and fleamarkets – she describes herself as a “vintage-aholic!”
Her favourite element is the chest of drawers with its brass handles, inclined drawers and compass legs. She sanded and painted it in this gorgeous turquoise colour while she was expecting Marcello.
Fanny looks for inspiration everywhere around her. It can be a painting, drawing, colour chart or photos found on Pinterest, Instagram, blogs, books or magazines. Her favourite store in France for kids interiors is Bonton that sell everything you could imagine for the nursery and the kid’s room including their own bedding collection with textiles that are tinted and sewn in France.
