We have discovered another instagram pearl! ‘My Hampton Home’ features Jill’s Drewett’s inspiring lifestyle in Queensland, Australia, and highlights her two daughters Daisy’s and April’s bedrooms that are colourful, bright and fun. Her eldest daughter, April, who is seven years old, just got a new bedroom after the family moved into their newly built house and she must be the luckiest girl in town right now – it has such a unique and stunning style that noone could be indifferent when seeing it. We are so in love with this colourful and blooming girl’s room!

Jill and her husband had already built their first home so she learnt so much from it for the second home that she knew she wanted larger bedrooms, especially for the girls. One of the main features, as you can guess, is the big floral wallpaper in pink, orange, yellow and turquoise colours. Jill spent hours looking for wallpapers in Australia but just couldn’t find the right fit. She finally found it from a supplier based in the US – she tells us that it was a little bit scary ordering a wallpaper that she hadn’t seen in real life, but she wasn’t dissappointed with it and neither was April.

Jill is a busy mum and married to an understanding and handsome husband (he made us put this in the text..isn’t that cute!). Apart from looking after her loving family she also loves to support small creative businesses and working mothers as she believes handmade and crafty goods are necessary in a home for the special and personal touch they procure.

A lighter hue of turquoise was painted on the other walls which balances the darker turquoise leaves on the wallpaper.

The wallpaper is a true piece of art with watercolour effects.

April really wanted a four poster bed so this was one of the first purchases for the room. They found one from Incy Interiors where they had already found kidsbeds in the past, appreciating their fun and high quality designs.

Jill also knew that she wanted a lot of built-in cabinetry – both the girls’ bedrooms have their own desks, bookshelves and window seats. Their rooms are also separated by a shared bathroom which is Jill’s favourite design features in the new house. Couldn’t be better for two young ladies!

Jill’s advice for other parents decorating a kid’s room is to go for it, not to be scared of going bold or putting colour on the wall – you’re only a kids once right! She also hopes that her children will always remember their childhood rooms when they grow up, of how fun and inviting they were and do the same for their children. We think chances are quite high they will.
